Founder's Story

Client Centered

I used to believe financial planning—especially from a faith perspective—was about getting everything right. Avoid debt. Maximize generosity. Build a perfectly ordered life that could be held up as a kind of testimony. But then my own life came undone. I went through a painful divorce that turned my world upside down—emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Everything I had worked so hard to build suddenly felt unraveled. Wealth didn’t make the pain easier—in some ways, it made it harder. The cost of change was higher, and the decisions heavier. I had to rebuild from the ground up—in my relationships, in my finances, and in my own sense of identity.

In the wake of loss and change, my convictions were tested—and refined. I came to see that biblical wisdom holds steady through every season. Faith isn’t about perfection—it’s about believing, trusting, and taking the next step. Life will sometimes knock us out of the sky; it’s the nature of a fallen world. But we get back up, dust off, and trust God to guide us forward. To heal. To keep going. Stewardship isn’t about earning favor—it’s an act of worship. A response to grace. God loves us, broken and surrendered, and wise financial decisions flow from that secure place.

By the grace of God, I remarried. We became a blended family with four teenagers. It was beautiful—and complicated. In that season, God met me with grace—and a vision for something more meaningful.

In the midst of rebuilding, I felt pulled toward something that had always stirred my soul: flying. As a boy, I shared unforgettable moments in the air with my father, hands on the flight controls beside him. In the quiet aftermath of personal loss, I returned to that deferred dream and earned my private pilot’s license. Aviation became more than a passion—it was a healing path and a way to reconnect with my dad. One of the greatest gifts of that season was taking a flight with him—this time with me in the left seat as Pilot-in-Command—just a month before he passed away from cancer. It’s a moment I’ll always treasure.

Like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, I discovered that the cracks in our stories don’t disqualify us—they can become part of the beauty and strength we carry forward. That journey shapes how I serve clients today. We know life can be unpredictable. You can do the “right” things and still end up in a place you didn’t expect—financially, spiritually, or in your closest relationships. That doesn’t disqualify you. In fact, it’s where the growth begins.
