Faith-Based Investing
We believe every financial decision is an opportunity to reflect your values.
That includes how we invest.
At Loran Graham Co., Faith-Based Investing is more than just avoiding certain industries. It's a way of aligning your investments with your deeply held values—and honoring God with the wealth entrusted to you. It's an opportunity for meaningful impact. It’s an act of stewardship, a reflection of worship, and a practical expression of loving your neighbor in today’s marketplace.
As Christians, we affirm a foundational truth: God owns it all. The resources we manage aren’t ours—they’re entrusted to us by a generous and sovereign God. That perspective changes everything. It invites us to handle wealth not as a possession, but as a responsibility. To invest not just for gain, but for good.
A Redemptive Approach to Investing
For over a decade, we’ve helped clients align their investments with faith values. The concept has evolved over the past twenty years. Also referred to as Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI), Morally Responsible Investing, or more recently, Faith-Driven Investing, our approach centers on one goal: to honor God in how we steward the wealth He has entrusted to you.
Faith-Based Investing considers more than financial returns. It asks how our investments impact people, communities, and the world.
Faith-Based Investing seeks to:
- Promote human dignity by investing in companies that contribute to human flourishing
- Avoid harm by screening out businesses that profit from addiction, exploitation, or destruction
- Join a growing movement of investors who believe capital can be redemptive—aiming to collectively shape corporate culture and influence Wall Street for good
For example, faith-based investing strategies seek to avoid companies that profit from industries like abortion, pornography, or predatory lending, and favor those promoting human dignity, justice, and stewardship. This process is grounded in grace, not legalism. Just as our efforts to love others or spend wisely are sometimes imperfect, so too is the path of investing with integrity. But it is a worthwhile journey—because of the love and mercy God first showed us.
Faith-Based Investing offers a redemptive alternative to traditional investing in a world that often measures success by accumulation alone. Our aim is to invest in a way that reflects God’s provision and a desire to use what we’ve been given to bless others. Because in the end, it’s not about ownership—it’s about stewardship.
